Yahoo is more secretive than Google or Microsoft. Its help page says it doesn't disclose the numbers, to make life harder for spammers. Senders and email tools report the same figures again and again, though, so they're a good guide.
The limits people run into
| What | Limit (approximate) |
|---|---|
| Recipients per day | about 500 |
| Recipients per message (To + Cc + Bcc) | 100 |
| Sending speed | about 100 per hour |
| Attachment size | 25 MB |
New accounts get less. Yahoo also sends a limit notice that tells you how long to wait, usually somewhere up to 24 hours.
Things that trip Yahoo accounts up
- Using your normal password in an app. Yahoo needs an app password for any program that sends through its SMTP server. Create one in your Yahoo account security settings.
- Sending fast. Hourly speed matters more on Yahoo than on Gmail. Keep it slow and steady.
- Identical emails. The same text sent to hundreds of people is easy to spot. Use the person's name and vary a line or two.
Doing it with ZeroPhantom
